RBHS Fundraising Record in Philanthropy

Dear RBHS Colleagues:

Building on our prior year’s success in philanthropy, this year mark an extraordinary achievement in fundraising for Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. In fiscal year 2018, we raised more than $65 million dollars in private philanthropic support for our research, education and clinical programs – the highest amount raised in the history of RBHS, and a 30% increase over the previous fiscal year.

This impressive total, led by a substantial increase in gifts of $25,000 and above, also reflects a number milestones: we raised $28.6 million in major gifts, $1.5 million via the annual fund, $2.9 million via planned gifts, and received more than 11,859 gifts overall. These are all record-breaking accomplishments.

Our success is the result of the many valuable partnerships between our faculty, staff, and colleagues at the Rutgers University Foundation. These partnerships allow us to leverage our resources and secure transformative gifts that will shape the future of RBHS, education, research, and health care in New Jersey. Thank you to all those who played a role in securing this crucial funding. Please join me in extending a special congratulations and thanks to our colleagues in the RBHS Development Office for all of their hard work this year.

I hope you are enjoying your summer and look forward to continued success in the upcoming year as we continue to invest in our core missions and build a world class academic health system for New Jersey.
