Dear RBHS Community Members,
RBHS is deeply committed to enhancing our efforts to address diversity, equity, and inclusion. Over the past year, the RBHS office of Diversity and Inclusion has been working with many of our RBHS colleagues and the Rutgers University Equity and Inclusion office to advance the university’s Diversity Strategic Planning efforts. This includes aligning the efforts already under way as part of the RBHS Strategic Plan with the university’s unified direction for inclusive excellence.
Five areas were identified and prioritized to further our institutional commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion:
- Recruit, Retain, and Develop a Diverse Community
- Promote Inclusive Scholarship and Teaching
- Define Sustainable and Substantive Community Engagement
- Build the Capacity of Leaders to Create Inclusive Climates
- Develop an Institutional Infrastructure to Drive Change
Progress in these areas will be made by pursuing the proposed goals and activities detailed in the draft RBHS Diversity Strategic Plan. Please review the plan thoroughly and share your thoughts with us by completing the feedback survey by October 15, 2021. Reflections and suggestions shared there will be carefully considered as we look to finalize the plan and take actionable steps toward the identified goals.
