Face coverings are optional in offices, conference rooms, research labs, housing, and public spaces in buildings. Face coverings are still required in all teaching spaces, teaching labs, computer labs, buses, libraries, clinical facilities, and student-staff and student-faculty meetings spaces.

Research at RBHS Schools
Many research activities within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences are coordinated by the individual schools.
At Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy's five academic departments are actively engaged in high-impact research programs, in areas that include drug discovery and delivery, experimental therapeutics, and pharmacy practice.
New Jersey Medical School researches brain injury, immunology and infectious diseases, stem cells and regeneration, public health, and neurology. The renowned Global Tuberculosis Institute is also housed at the school.
Robert Wood Johnson Medical School houses major research institutes that focus on a range of topics, from cardiovascular medicine to women's health.
Rutgers School of Dental Medicine research extends from prevention of cavities and periodontal disease to potential therapies for cancer and drug-resistance illness.
School of Graduate Studies is dedicated to cutting-edge biomedical research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional development.
Rutgers School of Public Health houses a number of research centers including the Center for Public Health Workforce Development, New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center, Center for South Asian Quantitative Health & Education, and Center for Health, Identity, Behavior & Prevention Studies.
School of Health Professions supports the research endeavors of its faculty and students and highlights those studies at an annual Research and Scholarship Symposium.

These primary Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences research centers and institutes work with RBHS and other schools.
At the Brain Health Institute, more than 250 principal investigators focus on the biology of the central nervous system and its function and dysfunction to develop treatments for disorders using novel neuroscience tools.
The Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine conducts cutting-edge, molecularly-focused basic research in infectious disease, cancer, and neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders including AIDS, influenza, leukemia/lymphoma, autism, and metabolic disease.
The Center for COVID-19 Response and Pandemic Preparedness serves as a Rutgers-wide institutional hub for COVID-19 research and innovation.
The Center for Tobacco Studies seeks to reduce, and ultimately eliminate, tobacco-related morbidity and mortality in New Jersey, the US, and globally via research that informs interventions, regulations, and policies; the delivery of evidence-based tobacco treatment; and training of tobacco treatment providers.
Child Health Institute of New Jersey is dedicated to improving child health through the study of mechanisms underlying children's diseases.
The Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute supports basic and clinical research in environmental and occupational chemical exposure and fosters programs in environmental health education and public policy.
The Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research facilitates collaboration among the social and behavioral sciences, clinical disciplines, basic sciences and related fields to research critical population health issues.
The Institute for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases pursues novel approaches to detect, treat, and prevent a wide range of current and emerging diseases caused by infectious agents and harmful inflammation.
At Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, RBHS researchers transform laboratory discovery into clinical practice.
At the Rutgers Global Health Institute, faculty from a wide range of fields work alongside economists, engineers, climate scientists, human ecologists, lawyers, social workers, supply chain managers, and vector biologists to address global health issues.
The Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science supports study at the interface of basic and clinical research, combining expertise in cellular, molecular, genetic, and clinical science. The center is devoted to understanding the pathogenesis of diseases and seeking their cures.
In addition, the University Behavioral Health Care network conducts behavioral health, mental health, and addiction research with the goal of offering cutting-edge technologies and new treatment alternatives.
Clinical Research Studies
Clinical trials are scientific research studies designed to find better ways to treat or prevent diseases. Our schools conduct more than 350 clinical research studies each year as hundreds of researchers move forward in the discovery of drugs, biologics, devices, preventive and therapeutic strategies, behavioral research, and other interventions to improve human life.
