School of Nursing Dean Search Committee

Dear RBHS Colleagues:

The Rutgers School of Nursing (SON) is the largest and most comprehensive nursing school in New Jersey. Through the concerted efforts of school leadership and faculty, the integration of the former College (Rutgers) and School (UMDNJ) of nursing has created a strong foundation of professional education, scholarship, research, and clinical care.

Currently, with over 1,700 graduate and undergraduate students, SON now ranks among the top ten percent of nursing schools nationwide. The US News and World Report best graduate programs ranks the School at number 16 for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program and number 20 for the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program.

With this rise of SON in national rankings and reputation, we are poised for a future of significant growth and development. A key factor in continuing this positive trajectory will be the selection of a permanent dean to lead the school into the next decade. I am therefore pleased to announce the appointment of the search committee for the position of Dean of the School of Nursing and the formal launch of the search process.

Dr. XinQi Dong, Director of the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research (IFH) has agreed to chair the search committee. We have retained the executive search firm of Isaacson Miller to facilitate the process. Dr. Dong will lead a panel of twelve of your distinguished colleagues (listed below) to identify the strongest candidate to fill this important position. We will be seeking the most qualified candidate with outstanding academic credentials, research experience, consummate leadership skills, and an unwavering commitment to the ethics and values of the nursing profession.

If you know of qualified candidates, please feel free to inform the chair or a member of the search committee. In addition, nominations, inquiries, and expressions of interest can be made directly to: https://www.imsearch.com/search-detail/S7-174.

We are looking forward to a productive and rewarding search process and thank the members of the search committee in advance for their time and commitment to this important endeavor.
